Qoob Pro Backups
« on: July 07, 2005, 07:55:00 PM »

i have a qoob pro modchip and i cant seem to run any of my backups or my MP3 dvds. After the Qoob Menu Loads up, the disc spins for a while and and then it says "Unable to read disc". I dont believe that reading the disc is a problem because ive tried 6 different medias the one reacts by not reading them at all, and the others will try to read and is unsuccessful. I hold "A" to do a disc check and when it gets to "3C 0000 Read in Disc Data (2)", it stops for a while then goes to "3C 210A Read in Disc Data (2)" and the screen freezes. I think its trying to read the media but i dont know whats wrong.

Here are the brands that wont read
Staples DVD+R 4X
Memorex DVD+R 4X
Memorex DVD+RW 2.4X

and here are the ones that will try to boot but gets stuck.
HP DVD+R 4X
Office Depot DVD+R 4X (Ritek Manufactured)
Office Depot DVD+RW 2.4X (Ritek Manufactured)

By the way, im running Qoob Pro with 1.3a bios

any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

The general consencous seems to be that Ritek Ridata dvds work well..I just ordered some about 5 minutes ago.

I've been using cheapo Prodisks or something like that, and I can get a game to load but from then on I have a ton of trouble.

You might want to try a pot tweak, although good media helps greatly.  Heres a good tut.  Click Here

What burner are you using, and does it have the latest firmware?

Also I would check the POT value and see what it is at, and then possibly do a POT tweak.
