The only thing which impressed me in Killzone was the first couple of explosions, but you are right about what caused them to look like that.

I dont' think so.  Here's why.  They'd want people (much like some folk are doing on these forums) to say "bullshit!" then they (the developers) come back a few months later and say "by the way, the E3 stuff we showed was done with the ingame engine", to which the doubters would likely switch their tune and possibly favor the PS3 over whatever it was they had their hearts set on.

All they will be proving is that the graphics 'will' be similar to those of xbox 360's.

I too thought fight night looked amazing, but as was mentioned, it is only two people fighting; there is not any complex background going on.  By all means it better look that good, and i'm sure it will look just as good on the 360.

Remember the halo2 first trailer, with MC jumping off the ship?  That was all ingame on the xbox 1.  Those graphics look better then most of what we have seen on the 360.  Did halo 2 come close to looking that good?  NO.  Point is, there was no background stuff going on, so all the systems power was focused on MC, and a few doors and corridors.  All MS had to do was show the halo2 trailer again at e3, and everyone would be amazed at how powerful the 360 is.

Also, with the ps3 not coming out in Japan for a year, i consider most of the specs they gave vaporware; a bench mark if anything.  MS, on the other hand, is very close to launch, and i put more credit on the specs they have shown.  Sony just wanted to take the steam out of the 360 by showing double specs on almost everything the 360 had to offer.

Seriously, the ps3 did not show anything that the 360 could not do with ease.  Whether it was ingame or cgi.

I personally was more impressed with gears of war and elder scrolls 4 then anything else at e3.

Maybe if you watch the MS e3 promo you will see that they did prove they could handle killzone.

Why is killzone the center of attention? It wasn't overly brilliant or anything, about the same graphical effect as when we saw GOW.

Gears of war was nice, so was elders, tkaing into account how huge the game is running on the dev kit.

Halo3 will own anything coming out for ps3 within the window, just wait and see.

I'd love to see some comparisons of ut2007 for xbox360 vs ps3.

The more and more I watch the Killzone 2 trailer the more I disagree with the above statement.  There's certain shots in the trailer that look like they could most definitely be ingame.

You're full of shit man. That was alittle demo running on a CG workstation. No way in hell the Nvidia GPU is twice as fast as the ATI GPU. It's just not, I don't care what the specs say.

And name the last time Nvidia didnt deliver on their word......Never.

Actually for the original xbox they promised 140 gflops but delivered 80 gflops. That is 57% of the promised performance.

"140 Gflops ... (and we have the NVIDIA PowerPoint slide to "prove" it!)"

"NVIDIA XGPU ... 80 GFLOPS"
