Ps3 Renderware?
« on: May 18, 2005, 09:16:00 AM »

OK, I admit the PS3 fightnight video MASSIVLY impressed me yesterday, I was like  blink.gif  the 360 hasnt shown me anything that good.

But I looked again today at it on http://www.1up.com/do/E3 in the flash player on the front page. And it ends: "EA: Sports" and "Renderware" under the EA logo?

As Renderware isnt any kind of "real time" graphics enviroment it leads me to belive that this is simply NOT in game graphics sad.gif and simply a Render!

Anyone else having these fears? Why are Sony doing this?  sad.gif

they are putting their best foot forward before they have a foot...

its nothing more then  bragging...just like they did with ps2...can they back it up though?
did they back up the ps2 claims?

I personally believe the specs prove enough. The vids are cgi though.

It's marketing, its business. rise above it all and make your decision when you can use your own eyes.
I've made mine, but over actual experiences.

the Fight Night video was Real Time yes (one of two videos Sony showed as a realtime demo)... I thought it looked good but not any better or worse than what we saw on 360...

There really wan't much to it though... The characters look nice but the arena was so-so (look at the crappy texture on the ropes). It's just 2 guys in a small square ring, of course it's going to look good... Go play Yourself! Fitness on the Xbox  tongue.gif same thing.

OH well. There could be life on other planets. Maybe even of different form. MAybe they have the capabilities of living in space, or drinking molten lava, if they do Drink at all, or know anything about something called molten lava. Maybe their inner surface to their planet is cheese, if they know what cheese is. Maybe they arent made up of cellular molecules but something not even related, amybe made up of 'dufdgf', some kind of new form of matter form which we dont know of, if it even is matter. and then god. Who is god? And then there is us on OUR little insignificant planet. and north america. And a company called xbox. And a game system they make called xbox and how they decide to make a second one. And how their competitor ps3 has rendered videos of a game called killzone.

Yea, not to mention that every single Final Fantasy VII commercial
was pre-rendered footage. They never showed in game footage.

The EA Fight Night was rendered in "REAL TIME"... The EA guys were changing the camera angles on the fly while the "fight" was taking place. Renderware is the development tools that EA uses and owns, they purchased the company right after burnout three was released.

Now they Fight Night demo looked better then anything MS had shown. Yes that includes Elder, Ghost 3, and GOW.

I'm still waiting to get some information on why the guy who presented Fight Night was using a Dual Shock controller. Does this mean the DS will be compatible with the PS3? Or was the Fight Night guy afraid of the boomerang? Who knows.

The more and more I tend to watch the Killzone 2 trailer the more I disagree with the above statement.  There's certain shots in the trailer that look like they could most definitely be ingame.
