Personally i am not a huge fan of sony.  the only thing i have of theirs that i really like is a sony VPH 1271 Q projector.  If you look it up that is a 10 year old model that weighs 169 pounds!  but it does a nice job.  as for the newer sony stuff (the overpriced %$#@) i haven't touched.

As well I don't think i could survive with a sony console.  i was trying to find a web stream of the press conference. and guess what.  no one has any clue about where to get it.  no live streams even for subscribers to the major websites, and no info as to what was hapening.  M$ on the other hand has live streams of the 7:30 conference (less than 2 hours!).
Sony can go kiss an elf

Had a psp since launch, no problems, I went with Nintendo 64 though so never had a PS or PS2 from launch, however the ones I do have now PSone and PS2 seem to be working fine, however friends with launch ones have DD's all the time, same thing though with the power supply scandel with MS, all launch boxes with Foxlink's were F'd up (I know 2 of mine were)

sony's numbers are highly inflated because of the number of people that have purchased 3 or 4 ps2's due to shitty quality.

i have a 4-year-old xbox with a thommy that runs great still (no CD-R support, but who uses CDs anymore, anyways?)

I went through 5 (YES FUCKING FIVE!) launch PSPs before I got a non-defective one.

I refuse to pay huge premiums for sony's shitty products anymore.

It all boils down to this,

Sony is one of many companies that let their costumers perform the last stage of beta testing for them and charges them for it. Cell phone manufactures are notorious for this.

I bought the PS1 the day it came out and it had over heating issues that would cause the FMV to get very choppy. This was a noted flaw that Sony knew about. They tried to cover their ass by saying that the PS1 needed a 6 feet radius of clearance and to be put on little pegs to ensure proper air flow.

I bought a PS2 the day it came out ( I camped out and bought 2 and sold the second one for $900 ) and the laser died on me in 2.5 years.

I will get a get every single of the big three consoles but I will not get the PS3 the day it comes out. I will give it 3-6 months of no reports of bad hardware before Sony gets my hard earned cash.

I read all this and all I can think of is the release date.. that and the months to follow are the only things that will let us know what flaws it may have.. I will own ALL systems.. much like I do now.. There are ups and downs on each one.
