biggrin.gif  i havent played the first 2 either, so i wouldnt know.  CT is originally a square game, and SO is an enix title, so expect some differences.  im still working on xenosaga so wont be really starting SO for a while.  if you like CT,you might want to try chrono cross on the ps1. similar atmosphere, and is related to the CT story, but with a completely different combat system.  i fould FF6 (3 in the US) to be very similar to CT.

This is in no way an attack on that comment, just curious how you found it to be.  Final Fantasy 3 is my all time favorite game

how did i find the game? well its hard for me to say at this point. i played ff3/6 after newer ones like FF7 (my fav game at the time), and after ff9 (also fun game).  i cant really compare it to those two tho, as the plot in the latter games are much more complex (sometimes stupidly complex) and the game has a much more depth to it, from a non-biased perspective. however, i like the game.   cant compare these oldies to the new games, but i can appreciate it for what it is, and understand why it was so highly acclaimed.  i liked it better than CT actually.  i cant call it my favourite game, but i can see why its a milestone of rpg's.
btw my new fav game now is xenogears  wink.gif

.. i personally have never played ff3.. but "back in the day" ct and earthbound were the first rpg's that i ever played.

now those two titles were kick ass

and star ocean is pretty much doing the same for me right now... i haven't played a good rpg in a long time since i sold my ps2 for an xbox, but finally bought a ps2 along with this rpg two days ago. i figured that im gonna have to buy a ps2 for gta: san andreas's release anyways. this game is pretty solid and easy to understand.. not filled with a big ass tutorial or anything like that (like most games incorporate now a days and look hella unproffesional sometimes)

ooh i see now. what i meant was that the games had the same "feel". i played them back-to-back actually. CT first, then ff3. sorta felt like one long game.  and visually speaking, the games look very much the same too, with the 2D and turnbased combat.  not much of a comparison, but sorta like mario world and wario land. different yet similar games, with similar approaches.
i'd say if you liked CT you'd like ff3, and vice versa.
