Dreamcast Problem

I have 2 dreamcasts, and 3 games. Hydro thunder, works fine on both. Skies of arcadia, disk one won't load the menu after the intro, but if I load menu off of disc 2 I can put in disc one and play, both systems. Shenmue I get "now loading" and then a black screen, both systems. Anybody have any idea what could be wrong?

Discs and lasers have been cleaned. They are purchased discs.

I find it odd that I have 2 dreamcasts with bum disc drives. But then again I find it odd that I have 3 games that don't work. The third one is resident evil code veronica, it boots the menu but when I select new game, it says insert disk one, disc one is in, so I sawp disc 2 in and it says the same thing.
