This week CodeJunkies brings you news of a cheat revolution - Action Replay MAX Evo Edition. Is it just the old AR MAX with a few tweaks and a fancy new name? Hell, no!

In fact, these extras would be worth the asking price on their own – but as it is, they're included in the most comprehensive, powerful and advanced cheat system in the world!

First up, along with two discs packed with software, the Evo Edition pack includes a USB Evo Drive. This device can be used to store up to 16MB of data, and is also handy for transferring data between your PS2 and your PC.

Why would you want to do that?

There are lots of reasons. Most importantly, unless you have a broadband-enabled PS2, you can't download Action Replay code lists directly to your console. But with Evo Edition you can download them to your PC then transfer them to your PS2 quickly and easily, either via the Evo Drive or even via CD-R.

CD-R?

Yup, thanks to the MAX Media Creator software included in AR MAX Evo Edition, you can write AR MAX code lists to CD-R, and much more besides. Got a whole bunch of MP3 music and/or DivX movie files on your PC? Want to play them on your PS2? With MAX Media Creator you can, again either via the Evo Drive or an ordinary CD-R. All this without modifying your PS2 in the slightest.

In addition to all this, AR MAX Evo Edition also includes a Genesis emulator that allows you to play Genesis game ROMs on your PS2, and MAXim, which lets you to chat online with any broadband-enabled PS2.

It's the best Action Replay since gamers slithered out of the sea, sprouted legs, started breathing air and looked for the nearest tree to fashion into a rudimentary games console.
