Networking Ps2

I'm buying a ps2 from a friend really only to play socom 2 and nba live 2004 online. I have a wireless set up in my house connecting two computers.  The ps2 will be in the room with the computer that is wirelessly connected, not the 1 that is plugged into the router.  My question...is it possible to connect the ps2 to the ethernet port on my computer and it still be able to connect to the internet?
Sorry if this is a stupid question i dont really get wireless networking
