similarly, i dont think they should have called FF chrystal chronicles a "final fantasy" game. it doesnt work. Its one of the reasons i hate it too, no matter how good it really is as a game. call it something else...like just "chrystal chronicles" and drop the FF bit.

i havn't played many square games, technically only 1. ff7, i thought it sucked, well i was like 9 and didnt even own a ps, so... yeah

from what i hear, ff7 was the prime of the series...

but i have played ffta nearly to death, and loved it, and am starting on sword of mana, i think it's like secert of man, but with better graphics, new story, etc, it's pretty fun too...

(both square-enix games, technically not square soft)

you should give it another shot. ive been through it nearly 6 times...and im understanding a bit more each time...its deeper than i ever thought it was. still, it is a 7 year old game so dont be expecting mind blowing visuals.

ah yeah i see your point ive always liked the games where i play by my self as well but some online games take my interest as well anyone hear anything good about final fantasy 12?

final fantasy games have been getting worse lately, ff7, tactics, and ff8 were awesome, ff9 was pretty good, and for some reason, everything good about final fantasy games were taken out of ff10, and ff10 gets a sequal? haha my favorites 7 all the way

On the other hand, I did like FF X (not really X-2 tho - story is kinda cheap). The story of FF-X is really good, and I do like many of the personages. (Tidus is just great ).

I'm no real fan of FF9, mostly because I don't like the main personage (Zidane) and the others. Basicly the only cool personage is Vivi. Also the story is a bit too 'grandia-like' for me. It doesn't mean I hate this game tho, FF is always good ... it's just the one I like less.

FF8 is great too ... I only have some issues with the magic system (draining) ... which can be really irritating sometimes.

But, last but not least ... all 'old-school' RPG fans will agree with me (I think) ... FF6 (FF3 back then in USA) is the best FF ever! Personages, story, gfx (back then) ... it's a myth, a legend... and I think it will always go down as best FF ever.

BTW: for all FF7 fans ... square-enix plans to make a movie based on FF7. I don't know if it will ever be traslated in the language of shakespeare tho. But guess someone will do the effort to atleast make subtitles ... that's enough for me 'cause I really don't wanna miss this.

I know this game got a lot of crap for some reason, I didn't even like it when it first came out. But after playing it again on PC, I found there are so many things you can customize that it made my favorites list.

FF7 is the best game in the WORLD i probably played that game about 60 times ever since it came out in 1997 THAT GAME is the besssssssssssstttttttt  

and the CG movie is going to be released in america and canada this summer translated into english thats wut one of the sony reps told me at E3 CANT WAIT

I personally loved playing final fantasy VIII . The storyline was excellent ! and the card game which was in built into the game was addictive!

FFVII and FFIX were also good and im not slagging them off but VIII rules!
