Problems with Samsung Dvd bought On Ebay

Hi all,

I have a moded (xecuter) xbox - was working great and then the DVD-rom started giving me problems. I replaced it with the Samsung sdg-605B and it doesn't seem to read all the disks my old drive used to read. It doesn't recognize any purchased DVD movies that I have nor does it read any of the DVD-R or DVD+R disks I put in. Is there anything additionally I need to do to get it to work?
