New Motherboard, New Hdd, & Xbl

I recently had Llama.com fix my XBOX and they had to install a new motherboard.  I accidentally sent the 8gb HDD with it instead of my 80gb HDD sdo now thats the only one that will work with it.  If the EEPROM on the new motherboard hasn't been banned from XBL will I be able to install a larger HDD and then register for XBL?  What would be the correct sequence of steps to do that because last time I installed a new HDD I messed and ended up getting banned:(  Thanks for all help.
