Hey. I'm glad I got an Xbox. At least Linux is free on a mod chip. Has anyone ever tried to make a cheap version for home users PS2 Linux? £200 for the kit is way to expensive. I mean you get a 40GB drive for most of that price. I know it's probbly hard but would it be possible to make a cost effective Linux PS2 distro for the mod chip users out there? I don't have a PS2 yet but I definatly don't want to spend £200 for Linux wen Linux is mostly Open Source and free. Do they provide the source code for Linux PS2?

I don't think that they do, and I thought I saw a PS2 Linux that you download and burn to CD before...  GCLinux is gonna be kickass, but with PS2 and NGC, to save settings and such, you need a HDD

Well, I would never get a PS2 for Linux anyways.  It's cool that it is an option but I would rather have it as a gaming console than a Linux console.

Can some one direct me to more information about GaemCube Linux please. I'm creating a console modding site for all consoles @ www.mark-buxton.co.uk and I need a lot more game info. Is it game save hacks or somthing. Perhaps we just need to make a bootloader for that debian linux ps2 thing like cromwell for mod chips (or xromwell simiilar type of program).
