True, I hadn't thought of the GBA thing.  I still think it's pretty weak to have the other games but not the SNES game.  For completion's sake.

I guess the $$$ is always the main driving factor.

I put this in the other GC thread but the Zelda bundle isn't as cool as I thought it would be.  The "retrospective" video is beyond lame.  It's simply some in game videos from the Zelda series.  There's also a Windwaker video which is just some videos from the Windwaker game.  I was expecting perhaps an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto or something about the history of the games.  Nothing.

As for the games they are, as you would expect, as great as ever and it's nice to have some really nice working versions of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

They just could have done so much more with the game disc.

Bbbbleeauuuuggrrrgggh!  The sight of chefelf's avatar blinking away under LepPpeR's avatar is making me... ppfffffftttthhh!@! convulse!! aaaauuugh!   laugh.gif

Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game smile.gif  I had ordered the Zelda gamecube bundle with bonus carry case from Wal-Mart online for like $79.88 shipped, and my STUPID AMEX single-use card number got denied for NO GOOD REASON.  By the time I realized it, Wal-Mart was "out of stock" and refused to fill that order at that price even though they had the bundle (minus the free case) in stock.

AARRRGHH!!! - oh well, I really didn't need a GC anyway...

An emulator would make their life easier as opposed to recoding entire games.
I've read that's what they did with the Zelda N64 stuff they included in the disc.
But snes ports are going to the GBA, which is truly why they did not include it in the disc.
They want to ream you for that stupid GBA:SP connectivity thing.
Makes no sense that in Final Fantasy Chronicles, you'd need a GBA just to play multiplayer.

And just what does that have to do with them not including LttP? There's no GBA connectivity with that chief...

Basically, I'll have to go with what's been said before in that giving away something you're currently selling is just a damn bad idea.

That GBA connectivity thing is driving me crazy.  Nintendo still honestly believes this to be an alternative to online gaming.  They could at least just sell A Link to the Past for the GameCube.  I don't want to have to spend $100 for a GBA then $50 for a GameBoy player and another $35 to play a game that came out in 1993 when I was in tenth grade!  I didn't even have to pay that much to play it then!

And why would you need to do that? You could get a GBA ($45-$70) and the game, or you could get the player for the GC and the game. You don't need both to be able to play it. And in either case, if you're on this messageboard, you could likely just play it on your modded Xbox anyway...

Nintendo does own the source code and all that, but every single game on that disc (aside from the Wind Waker demo) is using an emulator. Sega did the same thing with there Genesis/Saturn collection games a few years ago for the Dreamcast. It would be easier to make an emulator than to port the games, since Nintendo has all the docs for all their systems and could write an emulator quite easily.
