How To Rip And Play Backups On Game Cube

Well I just had a thought. What if I burned the ISO onto DVD-R and then took the top off the GC and played that way. Think it will work? I doubt it, but it's worth the try.

I know the cube wont read dvd-r's but could I store the ISO's on dvdrs to save space on my harddrive and then just stream from disk in my computer?  Or would I loose speed since I would be reading from the drive and then sending to the cube?

Yeah it is pretty cool even though the compatibility isn't that great yet. This stuff is still under constant development. It can't get worse. Besides, the N64 roms run great. That is worth it in it self to me.

grim news... nintendo shut down the max console thread with the ripping development. lord-dog is no longer making public releases and all the tool downloads have been removed.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, the maxconsole thread and the files look live to me.

*edit*

Okay its' a different thread, but it still discusses backups, and only the make iso files are gone I think.

This method sucks. I have been trying all kinds of games since I found all this stuff. The games arent gonna run good until a new game comes out with 100Mbps. But I can say that playing  N64 on the GC is cool. All I am saying to everyone is do not go otu and buy this game and BBA and expect to play GC games like you do on your XBOX. It isnt like that at all. If you have the original disc use that.

QUOTE (twistedsymphony @ Dec 29 2003, 11:51 AM)
I started this thread simply because I grew tired of people asking how to do this over and over again.... so I pointed to how to do it

I never said it was any good... I just said it works... which is does

it's really a shame it doesn't work better though  dry.gif

I wasnt aiming any comments at you man, or trying to trash this tutorila, which by the way is great. And I followed it to try this method. My comments were just out of frustration at the performance of this method. Sorry if I came off that way to anyone reading this thread. Thank you twistedsymphony for taking the time to gather and try it, and to post your results here.
