How To Rip And Play Backups On Game Cube
« Reply #30 on: March 16, 2004, 11:39:00 AM »

smile.gif heard that the main problem was finding mini dvd discs. I know where to get some.

So if I was to get some. Could I copy a gc game to a mini disc and then play it as a normal game?

Or is there something on the GC (Like XBOX and PS2) to stop even that?

i'm pretty sure someone said this already. there's software out there to rip games but you can't play if you put them on a minidvd.right now all you can do is stream over the backup iso or gcm to your cube with one of the loaders.

you need pso 1and 2. that's the only game that allows this to work right now. like the original post that started this thread, though. there's new software coming out and methods so i'm sure it'll happen. i  think there's a loader in alpha stage that will work with epidode 3. just google it for info. or try some of the links in the original post.

ok, i read threw most of the first page and it was all just over my head.

heres my question (im really sorry if it is stupid and has been asked many times over)....

when you do this, can you actually BURN the games or are you just streaming them?  if your streaming them, is it from your computer?  like, i can go out and make a copy of my buddies game and then save it on my computer and when i want to play it, i have to network my GC and PC and run it threw there?

thanks alot and i apologize again if this is a stupid question

QUOTE (TheOneNoOne @ Jun 17 2004, 04:14 PM)
You can only stream them from your computer, you cannot burn them.  Then you network your gamecube and computer together and use PSO to connect your cube to your pc.  Welcome to the wonderful world of streaming  biggrin.gif

thanks for the help man wink.gif

Anyway, it's bullshit...from what little I know about the GCN it goes against all that's known about that system's protection.

Good to know about the plus version.  Good looking out.  Anyone here ever heard of GameCube ISO Ripping Server 1.0.0.30 or what about that "dog iso ripper"?

Thats what Im off to try.

http://www.maxconsol...nts&newsid=3214

also doesn't  the new sd loader mean that a softmod hack(one to play back ups) is pretty much in the works...

am i drawing a false conclusion? it says it will run whatever homebrew code

Hi,
I once read a topic about streaming games from your xbox to your GC. I wonder now if the Phoenix Loader could me made for xbox as an .xbe so I can Use my xbox instead of my PC to stream GC games, that would be alot better. Can it be done? Otherwise, could I install the loader in linux using wine or winex? If thats possible it would be great.
Thanks in advance.
