Any partition over 256gb needs to be formatted in 32k clusters using xbpartitioner, or you'll hit corruption at the 256gb mark. You're gonna have to reformat i'm afraid.

Just to add... once formatted in 32k clusters the max partition size wil be 512gb, so you'll need to move 11gb from G to F, xbpartitioner will let you do this.

As you copy 1 file onto your xbox, another will dissapear... somewhere.  It won't necessarily be an entire folder.  It won't even necessarily be an entire file.  But something somewhere will just go away.

Trust me.  There are no alternatives.  Format your drive now before you go insane...

Hey jimbobjim, I'm having a similar problem as well here whenever I FTP files of XBMC over to my Xbox on my 250GB HDD.  Even though my FlashFXP shows as having xfer'd all the files over, when I go into the dirs of the newly xfer'd XBMC, many are 0KB sizes.

What I'm wondering though is, whether once you start experiencing this problem, is the filesystem on your Xbox's HDD screwed up and will need to reformat, or can I just delete junk off of the HDD to create more than ample room to accomodate what I want xfer'd over on to it?  Thanks.

OK I need help again.  I just installed xbpartitioner and I have a problem- the program doesn't fit in my screen so I'm quite worried about what I'm NOT seeing on my screen.

Lets put it this way- what I would like to do is make one partition with all the space.  Are there any tuts online that you could point me to?  I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually but obviously this isn't something I want to screw up.

I was also reading the nfo and it says that you can change the size of one partition and leave the other alone.  I don't think that's an option for me though because the extra space is in the G drive.  If I understand correctly it has to be used in the F drive or it won't work.  Which means I MUST change both partitions.  Ah, to hell with it.  I've got to let it go, I know I know!

Any help at this point would again be much appreciated.

Nevermind...looks like I got it.

Just for clarification:
I allocated the entire 700gb to the F partition and formatted in 32bit clusters.
That should do the trick,  no?

And while I'm at it- why is only 700gb showing up?
I know 5gb is allocated to e: drive so shouldn't it be 745?

I had this problem before, there was 50gb missing...I'm not going to cry about it but I'd just like to know for the future.  If this thing has a 700gb limit I guess I won't be buying that 100terabyte drive in 2010!   muhaha.gif

with a 750 you must use 32k on f:\ and G:\
with a softmod
you must use .67 patcher
f:\ must be 2x137GB in size (do not split the size between F:\ and G:\)
G:\ whatever is left (less then 512)
you must reformat both using a dashboard (xbpartitioner does not format corectly)
i wasted a week to get a 500GB working corectly  mad.gif

you can try .06 and 64k clusters for one big F:\ then reformat using your dashboard
it may work..

if you notice the free space is to close to the theoretical space something is wrong and it will
fail when getting full..... 36 hours of FTP'ing later  mad.gif

When you say I have to format with the dashboard, do you mean file explorer? That's what I used before and it gave me this problem to start with, so I'm a little leery about doing that.
was that before you used xbpartitioner or with 32k and F:\ only (must use 64k in this case)
free space should around 690GB total

you can select 64k clusters in xbpartitioner

is it chiped or softmodded ?
chiped uses .06(all to F:\)  or .67(F:\ and G:\) bios
soft uses .06 or .67 patcher
what is you setup ?

my experenice was with softmodded only
chiped bios may be a little more stable with very large HDD

it was a real pain and after a while you get so pissed you forget what the you have tried (15 or 16 heads
.06 .67 16K 32K) and once it was filled and working it stayed that way  blink.gif

before i used xbpartioner.  i just used it for the first time and used the program to format.   it was made in 32k clusters.  are you saying i should redo it in 64k and then format with file explorer?

you can select 64k clusters in xbpartitioner
ok

is it chiped or softmodded ?
soft
chiped uses .06(all to F:\) or .67(F:\ and G:\) bios
soft uses .06 or .67 patcher

ok so its softmodded i should be good, right?

it was filled and working it stayed that way
if i get to that point it will all be worth it

thanks for your time.

Yeah, I ran into that problem with a xbox modded by someone else...and for me to finish.   Nearly 300GB of information had to be retransferred because the idiot didn't format the 400GB drive correctly.

Anyways, I have a dual hard drive setup on my personal Xbox...500GB for games and 750GB for movies... yes, I need a life.  tongue.gif

Well how did you fix it?  Don't keep me in suspense here?

And explain to me this dual hard drive setup...

lol...like I said, I basically had to retransfer everything after I reformatted with XBpartitioner.

The dual hard drive setup allows you to switch between two different hard drives...since you can shoehorn two hard drives in there with some case mods.  There's threads about it.

so you reformatted with xbpartitioner and it worked?  was there anything special you did?

i'm worried about reloading this thing with data and finding myself with the same problem again.
