hi,
so i had a v4 ps2, it worked fine reading games, and such, well i sold it, and tested it out before shipping.  now, it is giving the guy who bought it from me errors when trying to read discs that say "no data" and "loading"  What would have caused this problem, also would using a cleaning device help?

yeah, the same thing was happening to me. so i went to this ps2 technical troubleshooting forum, to figure out what i should do about it. There was this one post that sounded legit, so i decided to try it out. now my ps2 is working perfectly, all my dvds, ps2 games, and ps1 games work perfectly, and the machine never locks up and gives a disc read error. obviously you must use this information at your own risk, because not following it properly could damage your machine. don't get me wrong though, its not difficult, and anyone with barely no skill could succeed.
