Too much reading...

I will buy what system I like what games are for.

I hate talking about video game wars. Its such a pointless topic.

Because Xbox might go down in price. That was the idea.

1. The XBox and Gamecube are both selling neck and neck (in terms of hardware sales). This inherently hurts the XBox because it has been hacked....some people (not sure where they may hang out) actually download XBox games (REALLY!)....and almost as bad....some actually run Linux on their Box (very disturbing)! Seriously.....if you were a developer and saw that 2 consoles were neck and neck in sales....one was hacked (without even needing to open it anymore....can you say Dreamcast?)....the other was LOCKED solid (you even need a goofy screwdriver bit to open a Gamecube)....which would YOU develope for? Why are developer's still sticking with the XBox? How much Longer will they ignore the risks?

I'm quite certain that the Xbox sells more games, which is a statistic separate from console sales.  That's what developers care about.

To add to that... Keep in mind that the percentage of people with modchips in their Xboxs (compared to those with Xboxs and no modchips) is VERY low (i.e... saying it is 5% would be pushing it)...

MS is hoping Nintendo will give up the ghost and develop software for them......THAT IS COMPLETELY DISGUSTING TO ME!

I really don't see why you think that is disgusting...

You said you are a Nintendo Fanboy... Well, if M$ makes a system with both "Xbox" games and Nintendo games, you would save money on just buying one console for both game manufacturers... What is disgusting about that?

If you think about it...wasn't the VCR sold at a loss when it was introduced? The DVD player? Most of the electronics that we take for granted nowadays were sold at a loss so that more people would consider purchasing them. MS more than likely knew that they were gonna run in the red in their Xbox division, but probably didn't know how big the dent would be. New small businesses or divisions will be in the red for their first few years...common fact. We, as consumers, now will see how MS will tough it out.

I'm with shanafan, I have all three current generation systems and I have games that I like to play. I don't buy into hype from magazines...I'm intelligent enough to decide whether I like a system and its games or not. If a game holds my interest, I'll buy it. If a friend of mine rents or buys a game for a system I don't have, that might be a deciding factor on if I buy a system or not. It's all about choices...

I'm in the same boat here own All systems.GC,XBOX,PS2, PS1..

1. I bought a PS2 because they are just to many great games here. GT3, FFX, GTA3 just to mention a few. If my PS2 brake down right now I will go to the store and buy another one on the fly, even when I have all other system home. It really doesn't matter if the laser suck it already pay for the enjoyment.
The first post talk about how many systems Sony have sold that are replacement, it really doesn't matter the truth is that PS2 users are so hook up with this system that they will replace the system no matter what goes wrong, and that's because of the games.

2. I bought an XBOX because of the great graphics. Yeah I'm a super graphics fan. But to tell you the truth with all the games going to all systems the Xbox doesn't have all that advantage. A good example for me is oddworld for XBOX, I'm a true fanatic of the series, they have great graphics but the game was not good at all. From my point of view XBOX= HALO and KOTOR. In my view KOTOR is the type of game who creates true followers to systems, thats what Ps2 have that is so valuable(SuikodenIII, FF series, Dark Cloud, Breath of fire...).

3. I only bought the GC because of  the Resident Evil series wich I learn to play on PS2. Of course they gave us Metroid(sweet game). But this is what is important RE create followers at least many years ago and now I'm willing to buy a system to follow the series.
