If they're the ones on the SCEA site, then they are just plain old V7s (the ones that retail for $180) with pretty colors.  If you order the colored ones from Lik Sang, those are the Jap V8 (SPCH-50000) with the better laser, built-in IR, etc.  If you want those extra features, wait a couple months for the US V9 (SPCH-50001).
