Materials
LED(any color, I chose green cuz i just had it around)
Phone Cord
Shrink Wrap(optional

Tools
Scissors
Soldering Iron

Step 1
Cut the phone cord on either end horizontaly to reveal four different colored wires.

Step 2
Cut that same end vertically about 2 inches so you can see more of the wires

Step 3
strip the green and red wires

Step 4
with out soldering attach the positive end to the green wire and negative to the red with the phone cord plugged in, does the LED light, if not switch the leads (I wasnt positive which end they attach to)

Step 5
Solder the wires after you are sure the LED lights.

Step 6(optional)
Put the shrink wrap on it for looks, I didnt have any shrink wrap so I just used hot glue, doesnt look as good but it still works.

Try it if your REALLY bored like I was

what does this do? light up when you plug it into a phone line?

i think it lights up when someone calls you. Just a guess though, becuase it would be pointless if it was on all the time.
