Messiah 2 Installed But No Picture....
« on: April 29, 2003, 04:21:00 PM »

ok, i've installed the messiah to the best standard that i feel that will work, and yet wen i turn the ps2 on, it starts in standby mode and then loads the game wen i press 'reset'. The thing is, there's no picture. I've tried both scart (those 3 conenections, yellow, white, red) and 'rf' (the aerial socket) and neither work. I've also tried it with a different tv, and still nothing.

I've got a v.4 no-gap ps2 with a messiah 2 PRO v. 1.22a chip. What have i done wrong?

Have you checked with a multi-meter so there are no shorts? Besides SCEX and CLK must be well soldered to their target points. And it doesn´t matter if you installed it in way that is comfortable for you. You must folow the diagram carefully. V4 is also one of the more diffult models to solder as you have to solder on the DVD controlle chip. Make sure there are NO shorts anywhere. I urge you to download the latest revision of the installation guide here http://www.messiah2....stall(1.2c).pdf

This sounds like a bridge on the BIOS ROM.

Also, you don't have to solder onto the DVD/CD Controller legs.  Those are definitely the hardest part, but you can use the alternative vias on the bottom-side.  I think you're only required to solder onto those legs in V1-V3.
