Also, try makeing the the piece thicker, add tape to it to make it thicker, and try some tape that has not a glossy finish on the non-sticky side, but more of a mildly rough, tacky side.  see if that does the trick.

you have to specify which PS2 version you have.  Each version of the PS2 will have different connections to the motherboard.  There are at least 2 version of the Lens too.

too bad... I have a Version 3 with a bad motherboard.  The version 2 I have is the one I'm using now.  very different connections.
