I have had my PS2 running a Magic3 mod for a few months now and it is great. But I also want to use it to watch DVDs on, I can only use an RGB cable since I broke my TV remote and need the cable to auto-AV when the console is switched on.
This brings up the first problem... the green screen. Unfortunately the Magic3 doesn't fix this... however there is the good'ol RegionX which sorts this out right?
Second problem... To watch a DVD when running a Magic3 chip, you need to hold the reset button for a second or so till the blue light comes on... this sets the machine to DVD/PSX mode... so when you enter this mode, the machine will not boot the RegionX disc!
Does anyone know if there is anyway to get rid of the green screen and switch regions with an additional hardware hack? Or is there something else you can run on the PS2 to get it to play a DVD after booting the RegionX disc?
Any help with this one is appreciated!
