the reason for all the postings is probably cause we don't get emails notifying us of response to subscribed threads so we read every single thread. (at least thats what i do) and when u read EVERY single thread u are bound to have a reply

what exactly are you talking about? Last i checked (on sunday when i went in for my shift at toys r us) ps2's and xboxs cost the same, and in fact of the 2 bundles (sony ATV offroad fury, and MS amped) the MS one was $10 CDN more

Wish I could say the same.  As of right now my ps2 gets much more use than my xbox.  
However, the same happened between my ps2 and dreamcast, so I'm assuming its only a matter of time before the xbox becomes my first choice.
I'm excited by the system, but afraid MS may decide to back out once the software pricewars begin now that the hardware wars already started.

In any case, I hope to see it excel.  I hate buying systems only to find they get abandoned after a brief lifetime (ahem, SEGA)...
