Let me just describe how awful my xbox DVD drive is:

I have to forcefully open it everytime (it always gets jammed)
It doesnt load my DVD's, Games, CD's about 50% of the time
It sounds like a squeaky vacuum cleaner
It... well, you get the point  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Is there an alternative to DVD/Game/CD ripping to my HD?

Thats basically the only purpose of my HD... I just back everything up in there.

I know how to use my PC drive to DVD/CD rip and FTP it over to my Xbox, but sadly, that isnt possible with an Xbox Game.

I also dont wanna spend on a DVD drive replacement.

Am I screwed or is there an alternative method to ripping/extracting to my HD?

Thank you for any help!

No, you'll need to use an Xbox (with a working DVD drive) to backup your games.

You can purchase brand-new Thomson DVD drives for around $30 to 35, if you'd like to save money versus other DVD drives. Since these drives are new, they will not have any problems reading official Xbox games.

To rip xbox games you need either an oem xbox drive or a specially modded pc drive, either one you will obviously have to pay for. Stock drives are pretty cheap nowadays, so are faulty xboxes with prefectly working dvd drives... i got one for £5 a month back.
