The steelers looked horrible againsts Cincy last week.  Big Ben is not going to keep up his winning ways.

ON the other hand the Pats keep finding ways to win. And thats what you gotta do. There is no way the Steelers would have beat us with Dillon on board.  The Colts and Manning cannot beat our Defense.

Here's to back to back SB Championships. beerchug.gif

the steelers' starting running back was out as well, and still is.... it's not my fault they have depth beyond first string

ProSam,

As a big BoSox fan myself, I don't want to argue with you.

But you're saying you can't blame the Patriots for looking weak against the Steelers due to injuries.  Yet you say the Steelers are suspect for looking weak while they have injuries.

What's the difference here?  When the Patriots came down win an injury, they couldn't get the job done.  The Steelers did.

In a rematch, I still give the edge to the Patriots.  The Patriots have the best team they've ever assembled, and they are the team to beat in my opinion.  I won't question how good this team is (despite the fact I think they were more lucky than good in their past two Super Bowl seasons).

But don't discount the Steelers.  Big Ben isn't Favre, but Brady isn't Montana despite what anyone says.  All I know is that Big Ben looks better than Brady did at first.  A part of the reason why Ben isn't putting up big numbers is the fact that they are a running team first.  The Patriots have been a passing team for years, yet Brady hasn't put up numbers either.

The Steelers can chew up the clock and run successfully, even with their starter out.  The Steelers have better depth.  If the Patriots are healthy, I give them the edge in the playoffs.  If not, then watch out.

What is Peyton Manning's record vs the Patriots?

Oh right.  He's never beaten them once.

What is Peyton Manning's record in big games over his college and NFL career?

That's right.  He's never won a single game.

What is the Colt's defense like?  Crap.  The Colt's ring up big points on weak teams, and choke against good competition.

I'd put money on either the Steelers or Patriots against the Colts.

Who is the best QB in the NFL right now and is breaking records left and right...

Oh yeah, Peyton Manning. Sorry friend but the Colts are going all the way this year. They are crushing teams all over the place.  wink.gif

That is the most convoluted logic in the world.  Culpepper lit up defenses all year last season.  What happened?  They lost to the Arizona Cardinals and didn't even make the playoffs.

T-Mac led the NBA in scoring.  What did that ammount to?

Winning games is more than throwing the ball.  It's field position, kicking, running, and most of all defense.  And as good as Peyton's playing right now, he's only played one good defense all year.  And they were without key defensive players at the time.  In the playoffs he will face good defenses.

What happened in the AFC title game last year when Indy ran into a good defense?  That's right.  Peyton got shut down completely.

How about this.  Want to place a monetary wager on this?  I'll gladly take you up.

The team that is going to win the superbowl this year is the Philadelphia Eagles.   It won't matter what defense they play against, McNabb and T.O. will dominate.  I'm far from an eagles fan, but realistically they are the team this year to take it.

if one team is going to have their offense dominate it will be the colts'..... didn't the eagles' offense AND defense get shut down by a team this year?

Name one good defense the Colts have faced all year.

What is Peyton Mannings record in big games?

He's never won a single one.

What is Peyton Mannings record against the Patriots?

He's never beat them.

Didn't Peyton Manning rack up big points and tons of TD's last year, including the first two rounds of the playoffs?

What happened when Peyton Manning faced a decent defense?  He threw four interceptions and got totally shot down.

I think Peyton could make it as far as the AFC championship, but the Colts will have a hard time trying to beat a real time like the Steelers or Patriots.

Except great offenses with no defense never win it all.

The greatest offense in NFL history didn't even make the super bowl.  It's a fact.  They lost by a field goal to the Atlanta Falcons who had a mediocre year.

Great defenses with shitty offenses have a much better track record in the playoffs.

Too bad Pittsburgh and New England both have great defenses with pretty good offenses.

Doesn't look good for the Colts.
