Why Are The Canadians Not Performing Well?

We weren't expected to do very well this time. The bar is set at only 12 medals this time , well below the 22 we got in Atlanta. We should get some in diving and rowing which should account for about half of our medals.  Perdita should be a lock for the gold in the hurdles and there are others like Shewfelt, Igali, Whitfield, Gill, Nordhagen and the baseball team who could bring home a medal.

Sorry, just want to get the word out somehow, thanks for leaving it open.

Back on topic, I think we may do well in baseball, we seem to be murdering everybody we play (as far as I know)

Not sure how our soccer team ranks but it would be cool to do decent in that.

OMG! Did you see Perdita fall! I hadn't felt that bad for Canadian sports since the Americans won the '96 world cup of hockey! Wow. That was a shocker!

whitfield was considered by many to be a one trick pony and the CND baseball team is much like the blue jays..the bull pen screwed them. And nicholas gill..i want to crush em!

funding for canadian amateur athletes (as in olympic athletes, not professionals) is next to nothing, and probably decreasing.   i even heard someone told me of a televised conversation between some canadian athletes and those of a european country (i forget which). they were very surprised that canadians dont get any cash reward for placing a certain rank, or earning a medal.  apparently they were asked "so then why do you do it?".
