Hello all!
My xbox DVD drive was not closing or opening, but was spinning. (ie. the tray would not move but the spindle would spin). I did a tray realignment and now the tray opens and closes but I do not see the spindle spin. (The laser does move). When I power on the xbox my DVD drive is immediately ejected and the power light starts to flash green. The tray is then loaded on it own and after a few seconds is ejected again. The whole tome the light is flashing green. After it is ejected I can not do anything with it. Pushing the eject button does nothing, I can force the drive into place but nothing happens. I can disconnect the yellow DVD cable and then the light stays solid. My xbox loads to the dashboard without a problem and has no mods or anything installed. It is about as stock as they come. Any ideas, or should I just get a replacement drive? Thanks.
