QUOTE
Brock Lesnar informed Vince McMahon of his decision to leave WWE two weeks ago. Vince then told Lesnar to take a week and think about it. When Brock still had his heart set on leaving the next week, Vince OKed it. Brock was set to beat Goldberg at WrestleMania, but WWE changed the finish to Goldberg winning even though Goldberg was also leaving. The reason for this was because WWE was apparently "angrier at Brock."

Brock and girlfriend Sable actually broke up the week before WrestleMania but have since worked things out and are back together.

Brock was said to be very embarrassed and "pissed off" at the reaction he got from the MSG crowd during his match. He left the building quickly after the bout and did not attend the post-WMXX party.

Brock's friends seem to believe that the whole NFL thing was more or less just an excuse for Brock to leave. Brock has apparently been fed up with the people in wrestling as well as all the games.
QUOTE
Brock Lesnar finally spoke publicly about his decision to leave WWE to pursue his goal of playing in the NFL, in a Minnesota radio interview with Mike Morris this morning.

Some key points:

- He didn't rule out wrestling in the future, but didn't want to be 40 years old wondering "what if?" Playing in the NFL has been a dream, and he wants to pursue it now while he's young. He hopes for a tryout with the Vikings, since he went to college there, but would travel away from home if his only opportunities were for other teams. But he has ruled out the CFL and NFL Europe.

- He told Vince 6 months ago that he was unhappy, mainly with the hard travel lifestyle, and bought himself a plane in order to try to compensate, but that didn't work, and he gave notice two weeks prior to Wrestlemania.

- He said "drug tests aren't the issue" when asked about steroids, saying he is just blessed with the body he has, and the only issue is if he can make a team.

- He was an All State football player in high school but did not play in college and after a HS injury, was moved to fullback. He prefers to play on the defensive side of the ball.

- He said he is "walking away from the wrestling business for now," to do something for himself, despite turning down the millions of dollars he's due to get if he fulfills his WWE contract. He hasn't been happy - like plenty of other wrestlers - even though he enjoyed his time working with Vince and WWE, meeting people, the money, and entertaining the fans.
QUOTE
Brock Lesnar has made a personal decision to put his WWE career on hold to prepare to tryout for the National Football League this season. Brock has wrestled his entire professional career in the WWE and we are proud of his accomplishments and wish him the best in his new endeavor.
QUOTE
Mike Tice, head coach of the NFL's Minneasota Vikings, commented today on the rumors that Brock Lesnar will be trying out for his team. The following quotes are from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune :

"I've heard it. There's no tryout. We haven't talked to him. I'm not gonig to spend any time on that rumor."

Brock's college wrestling coach, J. Robinson, had this to say:

"If he were to call me, I'd investigate to see what kind of football background he has. But I'm not spendnig any time thinking about it."

It's rare for a wrestler to make the jump to football.  It's almost always the other way around.
