so you are one of those people thats wants $12/gallon gas like europe? the rest of the stuff you mentioned isn't going to be changed by obama. he is full of empty promises and rhetoric. he "promises" to lower taxes for the middle class, guess what, bill clinton promised that too, before hiking them. his foreign policy is absolutely abysmal as well. he only looks at the short term impact and not the long term impact (and by long term, i mean 10 years out, pretty much just after his presidency ends if he is elected 2 terms)
Excuse me? I mean I was even willing to give George Bush a chance when he first started. Up until Irag was invaded, I was supporting most of his policies. But I knew Iraq would be a mistake.
Most presidents are "full of empty promises" when they are running for office.
And as far as subsidizing Exxon, how would that make gasoline $12/gallon? As far as I can tell, any relief the government gives Exxon goes to bonuses for executives and dividends for stock holders. The amount of relief Exxon gets is not specifically targeted towards development of new fields.
Seems like you can fortell the future. You missed your calling.
I think the changed attitude the rest of the world will have towards the USA is worth electing Obama. We need more friends, not more enemies. Hopefully, with the Democrats controlling Congress and a Democrat in the White House (one with some legislative experience) we can see some progress on medical insurance reform, education reform, etc. Nothing concrete can be promised right now, but at least it will be a change.
