Hi, i am a newbie when it coming to hardware but i use softmods to run web browsing and xbmc and n64. My machine is V1.0, it had never been opened and one day i went to play it after school and it fragged...i left it for a few days to see and it still frags. so i readup on fragging and decided to open up as i have no warranty. I checked all the wires and even check them for continuity. i checked for solder and burned parts as i have seen pc motherboard caps explode. i checked that the caps are not lose. i checked that nothing is grounded out and no luck. i can't figure out why its fragging. once in a while it will power up with solid green but no a/v. now about the weird sounds from the title of the post...... when it powers up, i get a click though the tv speakers and when i power down, the tv speakers hum to the fans and the hard disk spinning down to a stop. i guessing a short but i cant find one. i even check the a/v cable for continuity and resistance. i getting a 360 soon but its nice to have the xbmc and stuff and i plan on giving it to my brother as he doesnt have one. also it would be nice to not lose my game saves and stuff too. i need to fix this.....please help.
