Sony is getting their name soiled more and more.

What they do not understand is that the gamers that got the PS1 when they where 15 years old are now 25.

When you are 15 years old you do not have that much $$$, but at 25 the situation is different.

To alienate them/us , the biggest segment of buyers now and in the future, is not a sound buisness strategy for the future.

A rep is hard to build up and easy to loose...

Lik-Sang got what they deserve. If a company requests you to stop selling there product, with the threat of possiable legal action, you would think they would stop and listen. Guess not.....

Does it suck that there gone? It does. Can you blame Sony? Go ahead. But you have to remeber a Company has the legal right to protect their assest / business.

Now the PS3 systems are not region free but the Games are.

Preventing a business from selling your products protects the assets how? I thought that selling made you assets.

There selling Sony products that have not passed / been approved by EU law. If something were to happen Sony could be held legally responsible.

Simple as that.

I loved Lik Sang. Does Sony Really think this is going to help them sell more consoles ? ?

If anything Lik Sang helped Sony, and now doing something like this gives them a negative image in the web community.

Most people will not care about this, but I think it can have a profound impact.

The community of gaming enthusiasts that do care about this are ussually the people that are called upon for advice on what to buy and where to get it.

I know personally that most of my friends get all of their PS3 and Wii Details from me. As they really dont care enough to go online and read about these kind of things.

I know that most of the people on these boards are probally the same. We all love video games just a litttle to much.

So if Sony pisses off this community too much it can rub off onto their bread and butter customers.

No, not really as simple as that, they were sued under UK law, and UK law holds the RETAILER responsible not the manufacturer

Sony could be portrayed as a company that did not do enough to "prevent", XX, from happening. There by showing neglence on their part. Lawsuits like this happen every day and will continue to do so. Had Lik-Sang complied and STOPPED SELLING SONY goods, they would still be around today.

As far as stock, I would assume that Lik-Sang gets their stock from retail outlets over in Hong Kong.

Not in the UK, in the UK there is NO contract with the manufacturer, only the retailer.

Please stop trying to apply US law to the UK

all companies have their faults, i agree with some people here. all lik-sang had to do was stop selling sony stuff. i used lik-sang once, took me forever to get my product and i've read lots of bad reviews also people not getting what they wanted etc, but that happens at least once with other places also and if lik-sang was so bad you all wouldn't be so mad about it, but i guess it is and you are. but i do agree shipping and many other things cost alot from there, which made me not even bother i'd wait for a us release. but lik-sang is gone nothing people can do now but flame.
