Hear that!! But to answer your question, that samsung is pure flame!!(good luck finding one in "your" price range) The later is the phillips, relatively easy to find (especially on the "internet"). I got a box here (thomson drive) w/ the pots tweaked that has more than amused me with what it'll boot!! BUT on the serious side HD is the fruit, get yer self about 60gigs and some games, all you need!!

Reads cdrs just fine.

I am having the same problem as the person who started this thread.  I tried to tweak the pot of my thomson and now it does not read anything.  I see that many people say that they dont even use the dvd drive and that all you really need is a bigger hard drive.  How do you get the games on to the hard drive if you dont use a dvd drive?  Do you download the games and save them to the hd through ftp?  I haven't even got the evox dashboard yet(thats why i was trying to tweak the thomson drive).  Is there a way to load the dashboard with out the drive?

i have a thompson in mine, but it doesn't matter because i use my hd, relax, and my dvd burner... the thompson is all i need

Hey, you guys were saying somthing about tweaking the thompson so it reads more media or somthing?? How is that done? Can you make it read CD-R??

Read the tuts dude.... all the pots tweaking info is there... not for the light of heart though let me warn you.... im not afraid to mess around with shit but I havent even done that one yet.
