I have found that people who do not support capital punishment for violent criminals have an underlying fear that this punishment would be used on them. Perhaps they have the taint of mental illness in them or they are guilty of something that could lead to violent and terrible crimes. Quite frankly I am tired of a nation filled with people who refuse to take responsibility for anything. Escapism seems to be the norm.

I agree completely, I'm usually gung-ho for rehabilitation (at least on the first offense) but this is a disease for which there is no cure (also see: herpes) and there is just no alternative. Sorry, they just need to die.
