QUOTE
Two more young boy lost thier lives for Bush and Cheney

You know whats funny, all these young innocent boys signed up for the war. Irregardless of what Bush and Cheney did, they still went to the local recruiter and signed up to go to Iraq. I dont support Bush or Cheney, I think they are both very much the wrong choice for people to run the country but they didnt force these kids to go to war. You could argue that most of the people were in the Army before Bush started his crusade against Iraq and Afganistan, but the problem with that is THEY STILL SIGNED UP FOR IT. Irregardless of reason, if we go to war it has to be understood and accepted by the people that willingly signed up for it that its an inheret risk they will be killed. Its a tragedy whats happening not only in Iraq but also in this country, but you listing the number of people that die every day isnt really going to fix much now is it?

too many people mistake the army reserve for a free ticket to college, its not, its the fucking army, thats why its called the ARMY reserve, anyone joining should know they can be called into active service at any time, thats the choice you make, i have no sympathy for reservists who now want out

the national guard is a different story, they shouldnt be deployed overseas, thats not their purpose, so i do have sympathy for guardsman in iraq

that being said there is no draft in the US, anyone in the armed forces is there because they chose to join up, they may have reasons other than wanting to go into combat, but the point is they joined the military, what did they expect to come out of it?

what about me and my family?
my great grandfather was in the army
my grandmother was in the NATO armed forces
my grandfather was in the army
my uncle was in the army
my father was in the army
i was rejected by the army due to a heart murmur, i tried to enlist 2 more times but they caught the condition each time
my gf was rejected by the navy for sleepwalking and a heart murmur

The fact of the matter is that the National Gaurd and reserve units have taken the larger brunts of fatalities, not the regular standing army. And since these kids went to military for varying reasons college etc and I once was in the position

You said it yourself... They went to the military. They werent drafted, they were required to join, they did it willingly. Even if it is for college, the point still stands that they signed up for it. And irregardless of the reasons for going to war, it has to be understood that thats the price you pay when the government pays for you to go to college.

QUOTE
I feel there loss of life commanded by those that would not sacrifice there own childeren for freedom is at best hypocritical.

I agree entirely, I dont know if 'hypocritical' would be the best term to describe it, but it certainly isnt good that these elected officials wouldnt send their own children to war...

QUOTE
So like you I will set on the sidelines and excercise my freedom of free speech and though, but unlike you, Bush or Chaney, Rice or Rumsfield, I have 2 NDM's. So I feel i do have the right.

P.S. Since you dont know what NDM is I will tell u National Defense Medal.

Then thank you, thank you for defending my country, my life, and my freedoms and basic rights. I appreciate it greaty, irregardless of how little you may think I show it. But this doesnt change my perception of what we are discussing.

QUOTE
P.S.S. There is always the ignore button.

I was commenting more than anything else. I could care less if you list numbers everyday.

My point exactly

QUOTE
Considering that the Army and Marine Corp have feel far short of recruiting goals the last consecutive years the draft may be paying us a visit in the near future.

I'll move to Canada. Dont get me wrong, I'll fight and die for my country any day of the week (and what the hell, the weekend to) as long as I support the war its for. And right now, I just dont.

Oh yeah, I'm to young to join anyways.

No Avarden, that is a fairly ignorant post

In any country there are two types of people.  The intelligent ones, and the total fucking morons.

In Iraq, the total fucking morons think we should leave immediately.  Ask any of the leaders over in Iraq and they will tell you that while they dont like us there, they know that some massive military force is necessary to keep the peace.

Also, WWII is a horrible example.  Lets use a more recent, and much more relevant example.  Vietnam.  This war is just as bloody as Vietnam?  I dont think so.

I dont support this war, dont get me wrong.

If xmedia says one more time..support the war in Iraq, then get your ass over there.  I may just have to let a rant go
Fuck it..here goes

Xmedia, i  support a lot of things.
I support law enforcement, but you dont see me putting on a badge
I support manufacturing of goods,  but you dont see me on an assembly line
I support the ACLU, but you dont see my signing up to be a volunteer lawyer

Your mentalility is so flawed that it is laughable.  You can support the war in Iraq, but not want to go fight over there.  Perhaps your not capable of killing, perhaps you dont desire to live in a desert.  Maybe your too out of shape...or maybe you have an ingrown toenail.  It really doesnt matter.

Also, if you mention the whole "Hotel Rwanda" scenario one more time, im going to scream.  Your pissed that we only took this action in the case of Iraq, and that we normally do not go to a country to liberate it from tyranny?
Are you suggesting that we should?
Or are you suggesting that we never should?
