In my area, albertson is by far the best grocery store, they are just so expensive in comparison (my albertson bill averages abt 10% more than walmart). Their biggest problem has been the labour negotiations in Ca. It has absolutely crippled them.
Idaho just passed a bill nicknamed "The Albertson Bill", that was basically targeted at saving the corp and helping them to become more competetive with Walmart. It wont help them with labour negotiotions, but it will help them with streamlining their supply chain. Only time will tell if their thick skulled CEO who ought to have been fired long ago has the brains to take advantage of it.

hell all the Albertsons in the Dallas, TX area are pretty much all self check-out. hardly do I see cashiers anymore, so they don't have to pay any employees.. except the ones that stock...which might be phased out as well...
Thats happening at all the stores. Fred Meyer, Wal Mart, Albertson etc are all replacing cashiers with self checkout. The only grocery store I know of where that is not happening is WinCo.
