Flying is safe. Its one of the safest methods of transportation...

Now heres an interesting story.

So meh dad was going through the Northwest airlines security crap. And through the x-ray something beeps and they demand to check the bag. Long story short, after like 45 minutes of them devouring the carry on they found a one inch long pair of scissors provided by northwest in a sewing kit from a previous flight (previous to 9-11). And guess what they said... "Thats fine. Go right along" After like 45 minutes. Bastards.

How many knives could you acquire from the restaurants that are located after security?

Security is an illusion.

I am much more concerned with their maintenance cycle cuts since they are trying to keep from going bankrupt.

at resteraunts in airports (the nice ones, not like burger king) they give out a nice metal fork, spoon, and... a plastic knife

airport security is kinda bs, the truth is, most of the stuff is for 'visual comfort', you know, the things that make it look safe. no real interesting story here, but lots of hold ups on stuff that was acctually approved.

although: when people see my xbox in the xrays, they always ask if its a computer or not. so i took some lead-like (shows up real good in xrays) and hot glued it on the bottom of the case so it spelled out "ITS AN XBOX"

i get lots of odd looks, been searched a few times to  biggrin.gif

LAX security is horrible, Im surprised it hasn't been bombed or something yet. I got thru LAX with the following in my carry on backpack. (I forgot about these items were there)

Self lighting charcole (the ones with lighter fluid already on it)
A lighter

The lighter was in a bag that went in the plane, not a carry on. But i got on the plane with these things, but when i got to Dalas/Fortworth Texas, thewy threw a fit and took out my charcole and a lighter sad.gif

Ya, LAX is a huge joke. I always get stopped in Montana, Minnesota...all the rural states, but never in LA. I've taken metal boxes with wires hanging out, and a backpack full of electronics...they don't care.

Check this out:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7806697/

You will get a fine of $250 for bringing a knife and $10,000 for explosives as a carry on.  This is sad....

I don't know how you expect any male here to respond when your sig does nothing but cloud the brain.  Every time I read your question I end up looking at your sig and turn into animal from the muppets.... "Woman".... "Woman"...

I will try now that the affects are wearing off.

Go for it.  I would not be sneaky about it though.... "Woman".   You could always try calling the airlines first and ask.... "Woman".
