could be a psu problem, and you might have permently fried your xbox.

If it's a 1.0 motherboard, maybe the GPU fan fried.

Only way to find out what's fried would be to open it up & check for burn marks.

ya your going to have to open er' up and take a look inside. I'd start lookin at the mobo the most because you said that everything is getting power first. check out your PSU and CPU, if those are burned...well...hope you got a few extra bucks

well that all depends with whats going on inside tongue.gif when you open it up fill us in and we'll tell you then. but more than likely yes, or you'll have to order some parts.

Have a look at the PSU on top and bottem,could be fried somewhere,If you find burn marks or discolouration post pics we'll see if we can help

Well, i would think if the PSU has fried somewhere and not giving the motherboared to less or to much voltage/current whatever, this could cause it to not work properly, or so i think<someone tellone tell me if im wrong

Anyway jsut have a look see what u'll find

The xbit mod chip I'm using is completely solderless.

I doesn't look damaged to me and the motherboard looks fine???

Looks fine to me!!


Do you think the mod chip is funked but not showing any signs???  Its a black pcb so is hard to see anyway!?!!

hmm....u smell something burning...u turn it off.....THEN U TURN IT BACK ON...?!!! R U STUPID???!!!! its only obvious something is cooking inside the console.....so u turn it back on???!!! that would do even more damage!!!  grr.gif  so do us a favor....use ur gift that God gave u....YOUR NOSE!!! so sniff that mofo all over...until u reach ur conclusion/bad component...  wink.gif

Well as you have ben sniffing  jester.gif ,jk, but as you have smelt around as the hdd is above the PSU if im right and also the atx plug thing etc and some capcitors, could be them, just trying to find an area of concern on the M/B, TBH i dont actually know what the fault could be just trying to help out and find the area of f**kedupness,lol, But still if you say the hdd isnt fubbard and it smells, look beloew it and see what ya find

Fair point, I've had a look at the psu but didn't originally see anything.....I'll take another look tonight and see if I notice anything.  I've just bought another so I should have something to compare!!
