Actually, we do too, to an extent. Especially in CA. The financial burden on our public school system by illegal immigrants is breathtaking. One of the elementary schools I went to has since shut down due to a complete lack of funding and an inability to accomodate a massive rush of illegal students (which happen to be Mexican immigrants in this case).
its kind of funny about education though - the lefters want to embrace the teachers union and show that they are doing a great job, without at the same time saying anything bad about immigration or various races. So they have a new term called F.A.R.M. studenst (Free and Reduced Meal Students : NO JOKE). Which is more or less made up of poor immigrants and inner city hispanic and african american kids. Then the lefters exclude them from all of their reports and studies as they pertain to teacher performance. They include them whenever they want to bash republicans on education. That was one of the beautiful things about Bushes NCLB, it forced the Left and the teachers union to stop their racist policies and just focus on children regardless of ethnic or socialogical background.

The same goes for our Emergency Rooms. One of the most crowded emergency rooms in LA recently closed their doors due the same problems.
Almost every southern state has this problem and a couple of northern states as well. I live in a relatively poor northern farming state, and we are having massive problems as well. I heard on the radio that Mexico was going to sue Arizona in international courts over their proposition to require legal resident status in order to qualify for education, welfare, and medical care. Thank G-d we have a president that wont join the international court system.

On a side note: I've been known to disagree with gronne on multiple occasions. But what's with the War On Gronne?
I agree - this is pointless
