I dunno about anybody else but I'm definitely going to the gun shop and trading my H&K USP .40 cal and my 10 round clips in for a Glock and some 15 round clips.

I wanted to buy an assault rifle but I dont wanna deplete my savings buying one. Although I heard they are gonna come down in price after the ban is lifted. Still, how much would I use a AR-15 to justify spending almost 1000 dollars on it?

Someone is packing light  rotfl.gif . Don't shoot your eye out.

Despite being called and assault rifle, the AR-15 doesn't qualify as an assault weapon in the ban...I don't know any state where it's illegal everywhere to buy an AR-15, since it's a long barelled, non-automatic rifle.

Why not trade in your USP and get a SOCOM with that laser sight?  That'll teach those meth addicts to bust into your trailer...

Guys, you know that you can buy pre-ban weapons, right? (but they cost a lot) Right now if you had the right permit and enough $$ you could go out and pick up a full-auto m-16 carbine with high cap mags.

If the ban is lifted I think you would have to wait a bit for some new and cheaper post-ban weapons to be manufactured.

I would go out and get one, but uncle sam is gonna give me one!

What use do you have of the weapons? Is it for protection? Fun? How old are you guys? You have to be at least 20 to buy these guns, right?

You would never see such a fucked up discussion in Europe. We buy guns to hunt, not for protection. It seems all of you here discussing what guns you're going to buy are republicans. I think that says it all.

at my school we had a debate over gun control and i found out the majority of the conservative kids agreed on needing guns in case the government decided to turn on us.  if you have enough distrust to think your own government is going to turn on you, how in hell can you support our occupation in the middle east.  and elsewhere for that matter..

Protection? - Probably not likely, but SURE!
Fun? Absolutely
Age? 35
Age to buy? - 18 for long gun (rifle, shotgun), 21 for handgun.  Laws vary by state
European discussion - no comment - what part of Europe are we talking about?
Republican?  Sure, what of it? What all does it say?

Most important reason to own/use/enjoy - it's your RIGHT (if you are a US citizen).

I was talking about probably all european countries. Maybe they do it in Serbia, but I doubt it. I live in Sweden though.

The RIGHT talk is sick. It's a very bad excuse of WHY you should have it. Then it should be your RIGHT to pay taxes for all the problems it causes. But you don't pay much tax, and many of you dodge taxes.

I can't understand why they don't ban all weapons that are not for hunting. And making sure people can't circumvent that ban.

Michael Moore proved it when he showed numbers of death-shootings in various countries. In Japan, (130 million inhabitants)I think they killed 40 people a year, and in USA they killed more than 11,000 people every year. So, it's your RIGHT to have people killed in USA, congratulations. I don't think that's fun.

Actually, shooting for recreation (targets) is quite fun, especially with assault rifles.  I'm not a fan of the "protection" excuse though.  Filling your house with guns is asking for trouble, and 99% of homes in America definitely don't necessitate the use of guns.

Awesome... I love unsubstantiated insults from afar.

Wtf?  My friends/family and I pay loads of tax, in addition to extreme health care costs... and we don't dodge our damn taxes.  How would you even know?  You're not a US citizen.  Since you're in Sweden, I'll assume your view of the US is horribly skewed, just as my knowlege of the Swedish is limited (then again, I don't make assumptions about your people).

As for the guns to republicans correlation... who knows.  I'm generally conservative.  I lean towards fairly strict gun controls.

I've used both Glock 17 and Mp5 in the army, and I strongly recommend them both. But the Glock is a sidearm...

Edit: URL (the moderators here really got to lighten the rules. Don't link this, don't link that, and long live the Soviet Union...)

Message to moderator: I've red the rules fifty times now, so stop calling me "a moron who does not read the rules" and show me the rule saying I can not link my pictures or textfiles.

I'm saying to my self there seems to be more freedom in North Korea...

Actually I keep my .40 loaded with ranger SXT rounds. If you think that's light you are mistaken as I am a pretty good shot. I only need to hit you once with one of those and you're down for the count.

Regrettably, a .40 bullet to an extremity won't bring anyone down.

What about getting a Colt 1911? If I ever should define a pistol, the 1911 is the first thing that comes up in my mind.

Edit: your reason why you didn't like it.....

Based on that post I'd say you're either clueless or plain dumb.

How can you defend a country with knives, bows and arrows? Get away from the computer and go back in to the woods where you can play with cute little bears and rabbits. Please!

Ok nemt. Go to another thread where you may have a chance in knowing what you're talking about. The FBI still uses the EXACT model gun I have with similar rounds.

To be honest, it was a guess.  cool.gif
