Well...
Everything you just asked if you could do it with an xbox, you can.

Xbox can easily be turned into the lowest budget PC, with pretty decent performance(besides 64mb of RAM).
But hey... who needs more than 64mb of ram?(looks at 1995)

It would make a stlyish anchor...or possibly a booster seat for your grandmother in the car...Personally I think you should fill the thing with gun powder and tannerite. Then make a fuse out of magnesium light it on fire, record it and let us all see the show.

Games? Pfff my xboxes hadn't seen a game since 2004.

With all the advancements though, the 360 barely has a chance at my place.

-VGA hack improved via frostythesnowman
-Flickerfucker (flicker filter for games disabled improves the graphics on regular tv's 10X)
-Xports ever evolving bad ass emulators
-xbox dvd hack
-Kreons firmware hack so you can backup games on pc (been able to do it forever but this is now public)
-USB via xbmc 2.0
-XBMC 2.0
-XBMC 2.0
-XBMC 2.0

And thats all in just the past couple of months. I have xbmc in every room of my house, and now in my truck.

Oh and did I mention xbmc 2.0?

Seriously, you don't need any reason besides XBMC to own an xbox. Emulators, Linux and Xbox games are just a bonus.

Xbox won't run widd windows installed. Try out the linux build for xbox... see if you like it.

You can't install linux, but you can install it as an app?

I have XSDL on my hard drive as a loopback install along side my regular xbox stuff and it works fine.

wait i dont understand, so if i put linux on a cd or use it as a an app, i can still play xbox games and do normal modded xbox things?.....and whats so special about XBMC, i think i have that or XBMP on of those ...........whats all the things u can do with it

That new Starwars game seems okay. I might buy it when it gets in the previously enjoyed or cut bins.

Still though, Mine is primarily a media player with XBMC.

well i jus found out i had it on my apps section and i didnt use it to much becuase it wasnt that fun and i didnt know how to get weather and do online stuff

So long as I have a pulse and a screwdriver, I will never be bored with either of my XBOXs.

Although, if you find that you are indeed bored with it, give XDSL or XBMC a try. GentooX is also worth looking into. (Although I find XDSL to be a much more practical version of Linux for the XBOX over GentooX.)
