Imagine this, I actually agree with Nemt, you cannot prove something does not exist through any scientific method. So the theory of a god may never be dismissed.

I checked out the bombardier beetle, as far as I can see, only christians seem to think this to be defining evidence of the flaws in evolution. None of us know how the beetle came about it's defense mechanism, but if it was that way since the beginning, wouldn't something have evolved a way to stop it by now?

No defense last forever, it has to continually evolve.

He was not disproving the person who wrote the Bible, he was disproving the idiots that mangle the Bible's words, into whatever suits their situation/religion best. If people would just do as the Bible says and not as they think the Bible says, religion would not be so frowned upon all the time. For me it boils down to this. Don't be a fuk. And to what extent does he actually send people to hell? Who are we to judge who has been "bad" enough to go there? I would guess that God tries to save as many, if not all of the people he creates from going there. That's why hell is so lonely, there is not too many poeple there I would think. The way I see it, if Jeffrey Dahmer asked for forgiveness 5 minutes before he died, he went to heaven....

That is the belief of a Christian.  Other religions have a different prespective of what is the relation between a person and his/her god.  

Unfortunately, there are many people in the US who are not Christians and/or believe Christian beliefs should stay out of the government.  Bush wants to push out his Pro-Church agendas like Anti-abortion and anti-gay agendas in the Election.  The government should respect those beliefs who are not Christians.

Many deeply-religious Middle-East Muslims feel threatened by Bush's not just because they 'want to take over Middle East.'  But also, Middle-East muslims feel threatened about Christian beliefs being spread there.  So that is why you see so many of these Jihadists who is willing to die just to have a chance to kill one of us.

That is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.    You do not go to Hell just because you are bad and you do not goto heaven for being good. You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in order to go to heaven. A personal relationship is not just trying to be a good person. It is loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind - Mark 12:30. How can you say the Bible is boring. Have you read the entire thing. I highly doubt it. The Bible is the most exciting story that has ever and will ever be written.

Ok I read about this beetle since this is the second time nemt has mentioned it in a biblical referenced thread.

This is what I found and it makes sense to me.

I think that it makes sense because people can't explain or even FATHOM how something like that evolved from anything, but.. there are other strange things out there that have evolved into what they are now. Sure this sounds extremely unlikely to have evolved, but that only because our knowledge of the creature is limited to what we see now, not any of it's predecessors.

See my only problem with that statement, is it can't be done. If we respected others "beliefs" all the time, then people like those nice ones from Waco, Texas, could just keep doing what they are doing. We can't tell them it's wrong, according to there religion its ok. Ahem, I believe George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were Deists, which would make them altogether dislike organized religion.

In fact, I think most of our founding fathers were deists.
