I'm glad you think America is a plague but when was the last time you ate a hamburger at Wendy's, BK or McDonalds? How about had a Starbucks coffee? The computer you're on? Oh that's right. How about the xbox you play on (I assume that's why you're here)

Well I dont know about him but where I come from in the UK we dont have a Wendys , i dont know what a BK for sure (if its Burgur king the closest is 35mile away and we consider that too far to travel for a cardboard tasting patty)  is and McDonalds has been avoided and has been almost empty due to local feelings since late last year I think they have now laid most the staff off , last one I had was in early Jan and was p*ss poor so we havent been back since.
My Xbox was manufactured and assembled in Hungary   biggrin.gif
Never bought or seen an American made motherboard or soundcard here , powersupply / case is Taiwan and as far as I am aware NEC (My Drive & DVD writer) is japananese ? and they have a factory 15 miles from me so my comuter is not American either , seems as my lifes enjoyment  owes little to the USA product

Never seen  a Starbucks coffee as we are predominantly tea drinkers here in the UK but as you probably havent done much external travel you would not know of our heratige / likes / dislikes .

Really dont know where you get the idea America is on all our street corners nobody in my area of the UK gives a crap about American produce our shops are full of mainly Chinese and French / German  merchandise , very very little American stuff.
Chinas the real future superpower ,wonderful drills and power tools , fridges , tvs , cant really think of anything appart from xbox they dont do . wonder why Bush seems unconcerned about there upward turn in fortunes , they certainly have a knack of producing better versions of Fender and Gibsons at a tenth of the price , Les Paul Goldtop plays as good as original Gibson for £130.00  , DVD player for £25.00 anyone plays all.
Yes our friends the Chinese are really keeping us in nice cheap goods and healthy takeaways

The futures bright , the futures yellow.

Stir fried chinese chicken  no burgers and fatty fries (thats why we are mostly slim and healthy we steer away from USA fatty fast foods , the "Walrus" in US should consider trying our diet dont miss McDonalds or any of the other American food chains.
If you had been here you would know we have mnany more Chinese resturants and takeaways than American

Sooner we see less of American shoddy overpriced  goods the better as far as Im conserned.
The hatred my country now has for America as a whole is probably largley unwarrented in the extreme that it now exists , however it DOES exist and is getting worse by the day.
It is probably a good job we dont have any American shops here as it would probably lead to violence.

I don't cut up posts based on spelling and gramar, I'm smart enough to figure out what people mean by something.

Anyhow, your xbox was designed in the USA, so scratch that one. Is that BK that's too far away to get to still in your country? Yes. Is it still open? Yes. Thank you.

As far as McDonalds goes, they fuckin suck anyway but they are still open and still there.

Unless you're posting on here from Linux I don't think you have much room to talk. MS owns your whole setup probably.

What kind of connection you on? Cable? ADSL? Oh that's right, major patents owned by American communications companies I bet.

Either way, America is not a plague, they are just everywhere. Diverse cultures around the globe grab at the chance to accept American way of life. I know that sounds cliched but hey it's true. They are everywhere. I've done external travel too and I realize you guys like your tea. But I bet there is a Starbucks there somewhere. Just like everywhere else.

Wendy's was a shot in the dark. It's not THAT big of a chain. Shit I was just at the first Wendy's ever last month. Small town guy started it in Columbus Ohio and went on to franchise thousands of outlets across the country in less than 20 years. Pretty impressive.

Anyhow....

As far as China goes, they are the next super power. Duh. They have the largest standing army in the history of mankind. Take into account that they also manufacture most of the electronics on the face of the planet, not to mention various other goods. That leaves you with a country ready to explode into the major political front. Except for one problem: Anything outside of the major cities, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, is destitute. The train rides from the cities to the factories are hours long. Everything along the way is nothing but poverty. The Motorola plant outside Hong Kong is a few hours away and the people that work there, live there all week long (6days) and then go home for one day a week to be with family. They get paid next to nothing and work long days. It's a communist country that has little freedom outside of the foreigner friendly cities.

Way different than what you and I are used to, but arguably the next major political player nonetheless.

Oh and they have more McDonalds than you can shake a tea cup at.

american here..... agreed, we're not "the best country in the world" as we're taught all our lives.  And seriously we're taught that.  I don't understand why we're better than canada or the UK or france.  I think we're a good country that thinks it's a great country.  I'd like to change it though

Xbox - point mine was not made in America , you can no longer afford to manufacture developed goods in your own country anymore and rely on countrys your government knows or cares little about , this is your countrys failing and will be your downfall / Chinas gain.

Take a business class and read about outsourcing.  What you said is not the reason why we send stuff to be made in your country.  Its to make room in the U.S for more innovating jobs.

The rest of the stuff you said I agree.

Ah. Well it's good to see that you don't read into the post.

Look. China is a power player. They have the power, they have the resources, and they have the determination. Only one problem. They are an American ally. There economy depends on the USA just as ours depends on them. Our companies goods are being manufactured there giving them jobs. Without their cheap labor things wouldnt get made and sold etc etc. You get the drift. Either way I'm not disagreeing with you on China at all so lets drop it.

You sir are GODDAMN RIGHT that Bush hasn't done us any favors(favours for you) in the UK. That's pretty fucking obvious.

I'm not trying to cram America down your throat. My original post that you replied to wasnt aimed at you. I was simply stating that alot of the luxuries that people of the world enjoy came in some way shape or form from America. Your computer was designed in America, the software was designed in America, your xbox was designed in America, alot of the games were designed in America, your fast food originated in America, alot of countries are free now because of America. Now I know that those statements are broad, and you can say oh it was manufactured somewhere other than America blah blah. Who cares. That's not my point. My point is it originated here. End of story.

I'm not saying America is GREAT! EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE AMERICA, WE GAVE YOU EVERYTHING!

That's not what I am saying at all. Not in the slightest. I'm simply stating that without us, alot of the cool things that people enjoy around the world, including their freedom are thanks to Americans.

But hey we're shitty people too. We go into other countries and slaughter women and children over oil(Iraq). We occupy whole countries after decimating their population without giving aid or helping rebuild(Afghanistan). We stick our noses in other peoples business like we're the fucking worldwide cops (Somalia).

We're not great, we're not even good, but things would be alot different without us.  Now we just need to get this president out of the white house so we can have somebody in office who is open minded to foreign countries. Bush sees them all as conquerable natural resource reserves.

It mostly appears as if you're trying to appease others in this thread.  Hating America doesn't make you any cooler than loving it.  Implying that America lacks in providing aid is short-sighted, since the Western world is always the first to provide actual financial aid, not token bull shit.  The situation in Iraq is a whole other can of worms, but you may want to do a little homework before you rant and rave.  Also, America is asked for military aid consistently, and the politics involved aren't as cut and dry as your post would imply.  Every nation in the world protects it's interests, not just the US.  Look at Sharon throwing up a wall well into the West Bank despite the fact that it's completely illegal.  America supports Israel, yes, another mistake.  Once again... interests.

It's up to you to educate yourself on the actual events and political details.

Getting Bush out of the white house isn't an instant solution, unfortunately.  As far as I'm concerned, both parties have lousy foreign policies, and all the important issues have become such polar issues that neither party has a damn clue.  An independent who thinks for himself would be nice.

I don't think Bush personally can be blamed any more than the agencies who actually carry out the investigations and gather the "intelligence".  Bush has only been in office for four years.  You don't think Bin Laden made threats when clinton was in office?

Changing your opinions based on pressure from your party and the audience at hand is no better than lying.  Bush and Kerry can suck each other off for all I care.

Japan would've taken over China and would be battling on it's northern front to keep the Germans at bay.

The Germans, Italians and the Japenese were allies and together were planning an atack on the USA. So how would Japan be battling to keep the Germans at bay?
In fact you should thank Britain as there is no way you could have defeated Japan without the A bomb. And wasnt European scientists, especially us English who invented it?

QUOTE
That's right bitch. You eat sleep and breath America, no matter where you live so shut up, sit down next to NFS911 and eat your veggies like mommy says.

i have no idea what nfs911 is but if America is so great why is Japan producing far superour electronic goods? What about Japenese cars or european cars? Far better than anything you have to offer! Everyone laughs at the American cars they try an sell over here. So what if the ford focus is the best selling car in britain, it is european designed and european built. Just the name is American and the dire financial state of your major car companies means it will not be that way for long.

How many American innovations are produced by European scientists/engineers?
It is quite a lot.

So why dont you shut up, sit down on that obese arse and shove your face full of that bucket of "FREEDOM" fries (lol).

The world owes you shit.

Listen Melon I know you're a piece of euro trash but that's ok. I have nothing against you.

You might wanna re-read your history book. I mentioned that Japan would be fighting off Germany because Japan was concerned with one thing: moving into the asian continent. They had been trying for hundreds of years to overtake China. That's common knowledge history there buddy. As far as Japan goes, if America wasn't a threat to Germany, I'm sure Japan would've focused their Military might on Germany, and probably prevailed.

But that's the point it's a "What If" situation. No facts can determine what would've actually happened so you are arguing a moot point.

You're right. I feel that no other country owes America shit, you people just hate us so much that you swear to god you don't need us for anything. I was simply stating that there have been times you did, and alot of people are around today because of that.

Regardless. I have news for you. I'm a history channel buff, always have been. Tons of war historians believe that there was no possible way for the European allies to defeat Germany on their own. Sorry but by saying that, you're a fool.

The freedom fries thing is fucking retarded. I chalk that one up to our politically controlled media for spreading mass bigotry toward France and the French. So what if they didnt wanna come to war with us? I don't fucking blame them, they knew it was wrong.

Last I checked obesity was a problem in your country too so you might wanna rephrase that from generalizing Americans as obese. You're right obesity is a major problem here, but it is where you live too.

This argument is tired, I've only tried to prove to you that America isnt the piece of shit you make it out to be. You need us as much as we need you, so I say who gives a fuck. Be a pompous ass all you want, it makes no difference.

nfs911 is the other guy who posted similar garbage like you. This is the prime reason for why people need to read every post in a thread, they just jump on in and spout of shit without reading the whole thing. If you cant take the time to read all of the pages in a thread THEN DONT FUCKING POST. By asking who he is you obviously didnt read the whole fucking thing.

i like ur post and everything, but truth be told

america is a peice of shit, and i live in america, so i can say that, sense i know how the fuck this country DOESNT run

Well I think our country is run like a piece of shit and it shouldn't be. That's a little more fair.

Bush has no idea what he's doing and I don't think Kerry would be much better, but who knows. He rides the fence so much that maybe once he's in office he'll hop to the good side.

Nader has no chance in hell of winning so don't even mention him.

I think General Wesley Clark should have been the Democratic candidate. He'd have been perfect.

For one, I think it's inappropriate to frown upon someone because they have a great amount of pride for their homeland.  In fact, I'd much sooner frown upon someone for NOT having pride in their homeland, wherever it may be.

Please UnPro, tell me the reason(s) you have to feel proud of your country? Tell me what good comes from pride?

I hope you know what pride did in the early 20th century. If you live in N.Korea and feel proud of your country, I'd say you're sick in the head.
If my country would attack another country for no reason (e.g. USA-Iraq), I'd probably leave as fast as possible, or I would fight against my own government. Now, my country wouldn't do that since we are sane, and haven't fought in a war for 200 years. You see we are tired of war, we were a huge nation back in the 17-18th century, and we don't want to go back to the slaughter USA now does.

It's countries that have a great need for pride that get's involved in wars. So please tell me the purpose of pride.

I mean, seriously, instead of being jealous, why don't you spend your time figuring out a way to make your Country matter too?  ph34r.gif
