I know what you mean.  After watching Ghost Dad the first thing that came to my mind was ... Bill's a pimp.  And picture pages.... wow.

I have a hard time believing non-white people wouldn't be interested in the xbox, just like us who are white. Perhaps they in general have less money, I don't know.
But there must be a lot of coloured people on this board as well, right? Or maybe I'm all wrong?

Of course not everyone who plays video games is white.  It seems much of the X-S population is European or Canadian.  As far as I know, that would make it predominantly white.  There are alot of white people on this board as a result of their origins, not because only white guys like games.

This is going to sounds racist to some.. and ignorant to others. Based solely on my own experience.. 31 year old white Canadian.... and my borther.. 20 year old.

My group of friends is mostly white as can be expected.. and the second largest noticable group in my circle of friends.. are asians.

My borther on the other hand.. who frequented all of the same schools I did.. in all of the same areas during his upbringing.. has a mostly urban black/arabic social group.

Here is a microcosm of our little world up here.

My friends.. both white and asian.. whether they have good jobs.. bad jobs.. or no jobs always seem to find the time and money for the toys. Cars, Computers, and Game Consoles.

His friends.. and their families.. seem to be the complete opposite.  He is one of the few in his circles with a computer and a console. Most of his firends don't actually have either. Those that have one.. tend to not upgrade.. and usually sit on ancient hardware. From his groups.. just about none of them buys their games or pc software.

Nothing scientific about this.. it's just our experience.

I can relate to what Bill is saying but the name calling and labeling is uncalled for and ignorant . True enough that the rap crap has had a great amount of poisoning on the youth , but for you all that lack the knowledge of what real Hip Hop is and to say that all Hip Hop is bad is just plain ignorant . Real Hip Hop is people like Talib Kweli , Mos Def , Pharoah Monch , Nas , Black Thought etc I could go on all day ... but those few I named really pump out some positive musc . Become more open minded to other peoples culture than just your own. I agree that bling crap and rims and all that stuff is pretty usless to lust for in life. Sometimes people tend to call something ignorant or stupid because they have never expierenced it or know what its like to be in a that certain position . I was born and raised in  Jamaica (Queens) NY all my life I've seen somethings as a child that no child should ever expierence , I grew up in a poverty struck area. Its hard as heck to try and remain positive and be yourself when the people around you think because of the things you do are different or not cool to them that they feel that you cant be respected . Me I used to get bullied at school and cats used to clown me all the time because I was black and I skateboared, dressed different , listened to alot of Punk, D'n'B , Techno and stuff same thing happend to me in my neighborhood , I could have easily become negative and idulge and poison myself in the lustful sins that they thought was cool . I guess the point I'm trying to make is that mental poison is far more worse than any drug and that sometimes a person's enviorment can force them to live a certain way and about time they get older it's too late that stuff is solderd into their brain , and ofcourse that if a child is being raised by poisoned parents and the people around them are also poisoned then basically that child is gonna become poisoned . I just thank God that my mom raised me to be very moral and that she's a God loving woman . And for the wannabe gangster home boy thugs with their bling and stuff I think they should be taught a lesson drop them off in any hood near you with all their bling and fancy clothes on for a weekend and watch how quick they get robbed .  Peace stay positive spread love and hate racism dont even label a person by their skin color its only a skin color lol

I rap music isn't the problem, it's parenting.

I remember being a kid when the 2 live crew were being banned all over the place. They always claimed to be music for adults.

Nowadays there is no "adult" market for anything. Nearly everything is marketed towards childeren or teenagers or whatever else.

Sex & The City in Prime Time, over 80% of MTV's shows involve gratuitous sex, BET is pretty much flaunting the stereotypical black culture as well.

What I'm saying is if parents sat down and talked to their kids about things and explained how the world works and the realities of what's going on instead of letting TV and the internet and everything else play babysitter we'd be a lot better off.

Maybe if young white kids were allowed to see the "hood" they wouldn't think it was so cool to want to be a gangster.

Maybe if young girls saw abortion clinics or teenage mothers and such they wouldn't consider "hooking up" to be such a common scenario.

When I was a kid we learned everything on the playground, now you learn it on the playground, but you have a much more vivid unrealistic image reinforced when you leave that playground and go home to sit in front of the TV.
