Could you elaborate? Are the 3 wires you're talking about the ethernet, hdd, and d0? They can be separate wires, and don't need to be twisted at all. Care to more fully describe this "trick?"

wll the deal is i opened my xbox it wanted to put new fan in it 80mm and i put it back together it wont boot it's frags so some guy told me to do 3 wire trick near TSOP well i im going to try and do that i have no soldering skills so i dunno what kind of wire to use at all ? i dun even have a solder lol

btw i dun even know how to tsop i dun even know what is tsop or bios like i said im a newbiee to modding and inever modded my xbox and it's not the first time i ever opened it either so it's definatly something to do with softwares of xbox everyhardware looks fine

Use 30 gage wire and solder all 3 wires on, then twist them together and boot the xbox. You can either leave the xbox like this, or you can boot it, untwist them, and reflash the tsop. A tsop is a chip on the motherboard, it contains the xbox's stock bios. When you do a "tsop flash" it flashes the onboard bios chip with a mod chip bios so the xbox will then boot a modchip bios, only without the modchip. A bios is the basic in out system, or a small operating system.

The best place to get wire quick would be to take it out of a broken electronic device like a radio. Take 3 wires strip both ends of the wires. Take the wires and solder them individually to the three points. Then twist all three ends of the wires together. You are basicly just connecting the 3 points.

i'm gonna go ahead and say that this is a bad idea. the 3 wire trick will not fix a frag if you havent tried to flash half of the bank on the tsop. the guy you talked to was a moron if he thinks the 3 wire trick will fix a frag.

something else is wrong.

and even if i am wrong, and it needs a 3 wire trick. you shouldnt be doing it. you are probably just going to mess it up, no offence, but soldering is not a cake walk for the novice.

what did you do to it to make it frag? if it only did it once you put the board back in the case, you probably knocked off a component...

When you replaced the stock fan, did you make sure the wiring was exactly the same? + to +, - to -? If its a PC fan, it probably has an rpm lead to which will confuse the crap outa the xbox. Does your new fan have 3 or 2 wires? And most importantly!!! did you make sure that the new fan doesnt draw more current (Amps) than the stock one? If so you may have blown the fan header which is relly bad news.

Also, like I said abuve, make sure the cabling is right for the fans power. The xbox is very picking with cabling. Mine fragged cause I had the IDE cable around the wrong way, even though it shouldent make a difference! Changed it, works great again.

Honestly, you really shouldn't put your phone number on a forum.

On topic though, i'm willing to bet that whatever happened to your XBOX will not be fixed by using the 3 wire trick. And i'm going to guess that you haven't soldered before, so doing the 3 wire trick in the first place is a huge risk.

Seeing your XBOX FRAG is never a good thing. I've only seen 1 or 2 stock XBOXs that were FRAGING, and neither one of them were repairable, no matter how hard I tried. And in my opinion, I am a professional when it comes to soldering.

well my fan is a pc fan but i got it off llama and it does have a same wire as the xbox fan does it does turn on does light up so im guessing thats not it it came with a blue switch also and a y splitter i guess to connect it with hd power if i wanted to

so i get a call on my pc not home

i dunno what the problem man all tings look intact on it before this happening my xbox was heating up so i also applied Artic silver 5 to both heatsinks gpu works fine so im guess my tsop got corrupted it self??? i mean i've seen posts of ppls nvr opened xbox doing that

i already ordered a solder and a wire i guess i'll have to give it a go since there are no other alternatives
