Hi all.

I have had a softmodded (spintercell route) since january this year and also used XBMC with it.  decided that the little hdd is no longer enough so followed the instructions provided here http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox2.shtml ,  all seemed to have gone ok (200GBWD), but now when i boot it goes to the MS dash.  is this normall and i now have to do the softmod again or has something gone wrong?

any help would be great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The softmod was on your hard drive. I didn't read the tutorial, but if you haven't put the necessary files to enable the softmod on there, then you can't really expect it to work. That's kind of like saying, "I put my new cd player in my car, I decided the car was old so I sold it and got a new car. Why doesn't my cd player work?"...............Probably because you didn't put it in your new car.

well during the tutorial it says to ftp the files to the new drive which i have done (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)  and when i goto the memory section of the MS dash it still has all my old save game files.... so the data has copied over and is there somewhere. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

it seems that the XBMC is just not kicking in for some reason.  cant imagine this being too much of a problem as i can reinstall, but i wanted to check if this was normal in a non chipped HDD upgrade/ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

well, i popped my spintercell game into the xbox, and went thru the softmod thing again and got unleash X installed.  formated the F+G drives to give me much more space (giggles like a little girl)  im just going to install xbmc again now and hope for the best.  thankz for the reply tho (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

KillerNet: I had the same issue with my upgrade. Once I got the new HDD to work(Unlocking issues) I discovered the same thing. I had to redo the softmod again. I redid mine to EvolutionX though. I saw if you post you got an option to format your G drive? How did you get this. I have a 250g HDD but only am getting about half as I cannot get  G drive option. Any help woudl be great.

in the dash it brought up the drives but 0.00/0.00MB info next to them,  in the tools settings section i think (cant check atm as im ftping 130GB of films over to XBMC) there was a format option and had to put in password XBOX and done.  i will double check once the transfers have finished.  keep checkin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hmmm.... OK I reloaded the unleashx dashboard.. I found the format option but xbox and XBOX do not work as passwords for me.. where woudl the passwrod have been set?

I feel like I am getting closer.. just need the last hurdle cleared.

Nevermind. I foud the config.xml and copied that to my pc. the password is in the menu option and infact was xbox. just didn't work for me. anyway I removed it and then it let me in.. formatted G and everything is ood to go.. Thanks again.
