Believe me, you americans won't benefit from being hated!! I can certainly see why the mid-eastern's hate you, especially after the torture you've commited. Iraq hates you more than ever now that you've "liberated" them, so why don't you also liberate europe from intelligent thinking, because we're probably even more off the hook than the iraqies?

On the subject of Japan.


Here is another con.

The Japenese would not surrender to the Americans because directly after pearl harbour America arrested 1000's of Japenese imagrants and put them into concentration camps.
Knowing this they would not want the same fate to befall there homeland.
They would rather fight to the last than become slaves without honour.
America knew this.

For proof search google for "Japenese internment" and try to ignore any American government sites which will be filled with propaganda.

on topic, there are few cons, but one is they didnt 100% need to do it
if they were going to kill innocent people anyways, they could have blockaded japan (would have took a long time, but itd work) along with lots of conventional bombing and then an invasion after a year or two


and who ever said germany would have won the arms race, your a retard.
we had just defeated germany and a) by setting off a nuclear bomb that wouldnt have prevented germany from winning an arms race, and b ) wtf is with everyone with there, america wins everything, attitude?

At a time I was willing to be mature.  I was willing to be reasonable.  But alas, my efforts did fail.  I could not convince you, nor anyone else to grow up and act maturely.  So for a brief period of time I freaked out.  Figured I would see what it was like to act like you raptobull.  I admit, it was fun calling people names, and acting like an asshat.  But that is not who I am.  So.  Here I stand.  Head firmly planted in my ass.  Commonsense out the window.  Wondering why oh why, did I ever start posting in this ridiculously overun political form.

I have visited Peace Park in Hiroshima many times.  The museum has a scale model of Hiroshima before the bomb was dropped and a scale model of Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped.  The destruction is indescribable.  The museum has a tricycle that was hit with such force that it was imbedded into a slab of concrete.  After gazing on the reminders of the destruction one cannot help the strong feeling of remorse.  This being said I am convinced that dropping a nuclear weapon on Nagasaki and Hiroshima was timely and necessary.  Certainly World War II would have raged on had we not used a nuclear weapon.  I think the precedents that were set are actually more important.  We were given the unique opportunity to drop a small nuclear weapon and view the horrible consequences of this type of weapon.  Had this not occurred the world would have pushed forward with the nuclear arms race without having a constant reminder of the consequences.  Had this not happened I am convinced that we would see different memorials.  Perhaps memorials for nations instead of cities.
