Im diggin the new slipknot album, it has grown on me. It seems to me like they brang some of the melody from stone sour into it while also having alot of hard shit.
A couple others I like is modest mouse's old stuff, guided by voices, ministry, halo benders. I listen to alot of different stuff

Well now that I've grown older, 29 now, my taste in music has changed somewhat. I listen to about everything except rap, country and mainstream pop.. I hate that stuff. I'm not telling any certain band, just the kinds of music.
1.- Thrash Metal (Beyond the embrace, Anthrax, Megadeth, ...)
2.- Nu-Metal (Machine Head, Mnemic, ...) (Thrash/Progresive Metal)
3.- Death Metal (Kataklysm, ...)
4.- Heavy Metal (Children of Bodom, ...)

Listen to some of their songs, and start from there.
