A couple of you guys said you didn't like Eminem. But, have you ever really listened to many of his songs? A lot of them actually have a deeper meaning, if you can get past a lot of the stuff in them.
Take "When I'm Gone," for example. Give it a listen.
Or how about "Who Knew?"
Or "Halie's Song"/"Mockingbird?"
Sure, he may not have had it the 'hardest,' but what does that matter? He has some awesome songs that were never on CDs in the US and so many were never on the radio.

personally i dont like rap at all, i think it sucks butt, but thats not what i'm here to say. I agree with those who say that a lot of modern music is crap. Like all bands are gettin sucky in my oppinion. Even the beloved Staind's last album was pretty pussy compared to their others. And yeah I also agree that I'm tired of songs sayin the same thing over and over, of course i dont like punk/emo any of that kinda stuff either (it sucks butt as well.) The best album that has been released recently i think is The Truth by Bleeding Through.

The rap hating is rediculous, you don't have to like it, but sweet jesus at least know what it is. Think about this as far as your own genres of music go, aren't you disgusted with all the music that is played on TV by your genres? It's no different with rap. You people don't even know what rap is and I don't really blame you. Your views of "rap" are what is over-played on MTV. The real rap lays deep underground.

Agreed, The Rising Tied was amazing, especially from a (sort of) rookie. Nothing beat Hell's Winter in '05 though. The Man and the Mouse came close, but no cigar.

eminem in my opinion is no way overrated. just listen to his older and some of his newer songs and you just cant believe how someone can put words together like he does. i will admit that his newer shit is getting kind of gay but still not that bad. his serious songs about his life are alot better than his newer songs about girls and crap. just my 2cents.
