Rap Versus Rock
« on: August 03, 2005, 01:46:00 PM »

Post your ideas, and prefrences, support your ideas with facts and experiences to get a real debate going  biggrin.gif  Im rock, lets start with that. I like rock because of the pure talent there is for it....u actually LEARN to play guitar etc, etc....Theres nothing like the mood that a song like stairway to heaven puts you into when the solo comes on  smile.gif  I have a large hate against rappers  dry.gif  They are broke fools who dont even produce their own sounds, and start trouble with abusive lyrics....its garbage. Ive hear once a guy who liked rap and sayed something like, " you know any africans that can play guitar?" Ad he just laughed at me for liking rock...... i wanted to hit him in his face.....um, lets try Jimi Hendrix? greatest guitarist ever? um, ya, black? um , ya.....

so youre near to seventh grade, am i correct? thats when the idea for this conversation pops into unoriginal peoples minds... and they almost always choose rock and make uninformed statements as to why its 'clearly superior'...

me, they are both music and i can enjoy each type equally given the artists in question have skills...

theres good and bad of both, only a moron would decree they would only listen to one...

*read post in another thread and ofund out youre a junior... thats about the time you should be first branching out... better get cracking...

Cant stand rap, but its music I suppose, so to each his own. Rock isnt supperior, and vice versa. I like most music (Rock, Alternative, Classical, Anime OST tracks, pretty much anything except country and rap) if anyone wonders or cares (if you do, you have problems man).

Tell me, just out of curiosity, do you listen to Limp Bizkit, or Linkin Park? Just wondering...

I consider my self a music lover of all. So if its truly art and good music it will catch your ear no matter what genre... But true they cant be compared.

i don't think we should be debating against this

it always leads into a very bad arguement

rap and rock are two totally different things

but if you want my opinion rap is shit

rock and metal has more to it than just words

This is an opinion war.  I think this topic is kinda pointless.

I like iron maiden and lil scrappy but if i had to choose id say i like rock.  But if you mean alternative punk , thats not rock.  That is 0-skill, all-out-sounds-the-same sounds. I mean rock when people actually played guitar, not just holding it and screaming into a mic.

If you mean alternative, id ahve to go with rap.  If you mean all rock, I'd say metal.
